PAOLA BARRIENTOS

Dr. Paola Barrientos is passionate about emergency medicine and joins Florida Veterinary Referral Center after completing a Small Animal Rotating Internship in Eatontown, New Jersey.

After earning her undergraduate degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, Dr. Barrientos received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies. Following her graduation in 2025, she worked as a relief veterinarian at Cape Coral Animal Shelter and Veterinary Services before completing her internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, New Jersey.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Barrientos enjoys relaxing at the beach or pool, reading, staying active at the gym, and spending time with friends, family, and her two Shih Tzus, Nova and Khaleesi. She also loves visiting her family in Puerto Rico and looks forward to continuing to travel and explore new places.
