Lee County Domestic Animal Services (LCDAS) is a tax-funded government domestic stray animal control agency dedicated to ensuring public safety and health; Providing education on responsible pet ownership and compliance of local ordinances and State Statutes relating to animals. LCDAS also strives to reduce pet overpopulation through non-lethal humane methods; Strengthening the human-animal bond to reduce the number of animals surrendered to overcrowded shelters; reuniting lost and missing pets with rightful owners; and adoption of unwanted, abused, and neglected animals into loving, permanent homes.
Gulf Coast Humane Society
The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization. The shelter does not receive any federal, state, or county funding and no funding from the Humane Society of the United States or ASPCA. They rely solely on donations, grants, bequests, and fundraising events to further their mission of caring for the neglected and abandoned pets of Southwest Florida. As a no-kill facility, the pets of the Gulf Coast Humane Society remain in their care until they find their Forever Home.
Humane Society of Naples
The mission of Humane Society Naples (HSN) is to shelter animals in times of need, locate life-long homes and promote responsible pet ownership through education, legislation, and sterilization. In addition to its shelter and adoption functions, HSN conducts numerous outreach programs at schools and to civic or homeowners organizations to promote responsible pet ownership, including pet sterilization. Recognizing that spaying and neutering are the best ways to reduce the unwanted pet population, HSN offers a low or no-cost pet sterilization for low-income pet guardians. Additionally, every pet that is adopted at HSN does not leave the adoption center until it is sterilized.
Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife – CROW
The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife operates a veterinary hospital, educational program, and public visitor education center on a 12.5-acre campus on Sanibel Island, Florida. The organization’s primary mission is the rescue, care, rehabilitation, and eventual release back to the wild of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife. Inherent in this mission is the education of adults and children, encouraging them to live a peaceful coexistence with their wild neighbors.
