Dr. Breunig is the Assistant Medical Director at Florida Veterinary Referral Center & 24-hour Emergency Hospital (FVRC) and a staff Emergency veterinarian in the Emergency and Critical Care Department. She has practiced in both emergency medicine and general practice for over 17 years.

Dr. Breunig earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. She completed her internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Sacramento Animal Medical Group in Sacramento, California in 1996. Dr. Breunig graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona in 1991. She was the recipient of an American Field Service scholarship to New Zealand, 1981-1982, studying animal science and agriculture.
